Abodewell's internal-facing tools work to refine the home selling and buying experience and contribute to the growth of the company.
The admin dashboard is used internally at Abodewell to keep track of offers and properties at various stages (pending, approved, expired, etc). Within each stage there is key information about the property, including property details, insights and statistics, valuation and valuation contributors, status, members involved, contract information, and closing information. The admin dashboard is a dynamic, evolving project that undergoes iterations continuously in order to ensure that our system is consistently improving. It is central to acquisitions, and improvements to the admin dashboard often lead to more efficient workflows that save time and reduce errors.
One example is the implementation of “suggested values” to the Valuation tab. When completing the Valuation Form to submit and generate the offer and contract for an offer request, a user would often need to scroll through several tables and rows of data to determine what to input in a specific field. Several times, information needed to be copied and pasted from the tables to the Valuation Form. Double-checking also required extensive combing through long lists of information, which added minutes to the process. These types of tedious instances greatly increased the time it would take for a team member to complete the form, making the process frustrating, and when aggregated, inefficient.
“Suggested values” instantly provide the team member with relevant and accurate information as they go through the form. The values appear below the fields, and can be approved by clicking the checkmark to then fill the field. Alongside the value, a “context label” appears to provide insights and source data about the value.
This seemingly simple feature, which required Data Science, Engineering, and Design work, greatly reduces the time it takes to generate and email offers and contracts.
Central to Abodewell’s acquisition and resale strategy are the field ops representatives that physically visit and inspect Abodewell’s home inventory. Their responsibilities include conducting property inspections, keeping track of moving components such as signage and materials, and communicating issues, updates, and recommendations to the operations team.
Through a custom mobile application, we hope to provide a tracking platform for the often complex and dynamic tasks they perform on a daily basis. This application will keep track of all tasks pertaining to each property, including the minute details and decisions that can often get lost amongst various communication methods. The easily accessible and intuitive interface will greatly enhance the overall workflow between field ops and operations.
